TEAM ONTARIO REGIONAL PROGRAM

The Team Ontario Regional Program allows athletes from across the province to experience a high-performance style of training and instruction in both indoor and beach volleyball through an overnight training camp. The goal of the program is to expose more athletes to high-performance volleyball concepts to create a broader and more skilled group of athletes in Ontario.

The athletes compete in a tournament at the end of their training camp. The tournament alternates yearly between athletes competing in the Ontario Summer Games, and an in-house tournament.

REGIONAL TRAINING CAMP

 All athletes from all regions will converge to one location to receive training from their regional coaches and provincial mentor coaches. The camp will be designed to provide both athletes and coaches with a holistic development opportunity. Some of the benefits of the camp include:

  • Consistent training delivered to all athletes and coaches from the regional program

  • Opportunity to train with athletes from all over the province

  • Training camp format similar to Team Ontario training camps

  • Opportunity to compete in a beach/indoor competition at the end of the camp

New for 2025- TORP Boys Program All Star Team

This year, we will be selecting a Team Ontario Regional Program Boys All-Star Team to compete at the Canada Cup competition held at Brock University July 22-27. Selections will be made at the University of Guelph, and athletes will be notified upon completion of camp.

These athletes will train with TORP at the University of Guelph from June 29-July 5, and then be responsible for arriving at Brock University on July 22 for the competition. Accommodations and food will be provided to the athletes for the duration of the competition.

    The Team Ontario Regional Program selects a target number of athletes per region. These targets are based on a proportion of membership within each region. The final numbers may slightly differ based on the number of applications received and the final evaluation of athletes.

    Region 1- 4 female athletes, 2 male athletes

    Region 2- 6 female athletes, 4 male athletes

    Region 3- 48 female athletes, 28 male athletes

    Region 4- 10 female athletes, 6 male athletes

    Region 5- 40 female athletes, 23 male athletes

    Region 6- 12 female athletes, 9 male athletes
