Team Ontario Sitting
Team Ontario launched it’s inaugural Team Ontario Sitting Volleyball training camp in June, 2025. The overnight camp offered para-athletes from across the province a chance to train in a high-performance sitting volleyball environment. The program is built to create a seamless transition between local community programs and the national team level. While this camp is specifically designed for para-athletes, able-bodied athletes were invited to join to complete a training group. The coaching staff will focus on developing key aspects of the game, ensuring comprehensive growth in both on-court skills, strength and conditioning, nutrition, etc.
Team Ontario will continue to grow the Team Ontario Sitting Volleyball program, but continuing to offer training camp and competition opportunities aligned with our National Teams. 2026 training camp information will be shared on this webpage.
Program highlights and objectives:
On-court skill development – Training sessions focused on technical and tactical aspects of sitting volleyball
Strength & conditioning – Customized training to meet the physical demands of high-performance sport
Nutrition workshops – Guidance on fuelling for training and competition as a para-athlete
Competitive match play – Opportunities to apply skills in a game environment
Coach mentorship program – Development for Ontario-based coaches to support the growth of sitting volleyball
This program serves as an important step in building Ontario’s sitting volleyball pathway and preparing athletes for future opportunities at the national and international levels.
